Teaching Techniques and Methods
1. Active Learning: I believe students learn best when they are actively engaged, so I incorporate discussions, problem-solving tasks, and hands-on activities. This approach encourages students to think critically and ask questions, making learning more dynamic and memorable.
2. Scaffolding: I introduce new concepts gradually, building on students' existing knowledge. This method, known as scaffolding, helps students feel more confident tackling complex topics, as they have a solid foundation to build on.
3. Use of Examples and Analogies: Whenever possible, I explain concepts using real-world examples or analogies. This makes abstract or challenging topics easier to grasp, particularly when teaching subjects like mathematics or science.
4. Adaptability: I adapt my teaching to suit each student’s learning style—whether they're visual, auditory, reading/writing-oriented, or kinesthetic learners. I vary my materials and activities accordingly to make sure all students have a chance to connect with the subject matter.
5. Feedback and Reflection: Regular feedback is a critical part of my teaching. I provide constructive feedback to help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Additionally, I encourage students to reflect on their own progress and learning experiences.
Usual Structure of a Class
1. Introduction and Objectives: I start each class by introducing the topic and setting clear objectives, so students understand what they’ll learn and why it’s important.
2. Engagement: I use a brief, engaging activity or question related to the topic to stimulate curiosity and activate prior knowledge. This could be a question, a quick video, or a relevant story.
3. Core Instruction: Here, I explain the new material, often using examples, visual aids, and demonstrations. This part includes step-by-step explanations, where I break down complex concepts
