About Angela

As a Civil Engineering student at Florida International University, I bring a strong academic background in math and science along with real teaching experience through my STEM education training. I have worked in classroom settings where I developed lesson plans, supported students at different learning levels, and helped simplify challenging concepts in subjects like algebra, calculus, and science.

I am known for being patient, reliable, and committed to helping students truly understand the material rather than just memorizing it. I take the time to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students build long-term confidence in their abilities.

With a consistent A/B academic record and a strong work ethic, I continue to grow my knowledge in advanced STEM subjects, which allows me to better support my students. I approach every session with professionalism, preparation, and a genuine passion for teaching and learning.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered around making learning simple, clear, and comfortable for the student. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into smaller, step-by-step explanations so they’re easier to understand. I also adapt my teaching style depending on how each student learns best, whether that’s through practice problems, visual explanations, or real-life examples. I always try to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and not afraid to make mistakes.

A typical lesson with me usually starts with a quick review of what the student is currently learning or struggling with. From there, I explain the concept in a clear and simple way, then we work through examples together. After that, I let the student try similar problems on their own while I guide them when needed. I also like to end sessions with a short recap to make sure everything makes sense and the student feels more confident.

What sets me apart as a tutor is that I genuinely care about whether the student understands, not just finishing the material. I’m patient, adaptable, and I take the time to explain things in different ways until it clicks. As a Civil Engineering student at FIU with a STEM education background, I have both the knowledge and the ability to teach it effectively.

My lessons are mainly for middle school and high school students, especially those taking algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, physics, and general science courses. However, I can also support early college-level students depending on the subject. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also build confidence and a stronger understanding of the material.
