Hi! I’m Shikta, a Master of Science in Computer Science student at the University of Lethbridge and a former semiconductor industry professional. I bring real-world technical expertise and academic excellence to my tutoring, providing a patient, professional, and highly encouraging space for my students. I believe math is best learned through active doing, not passive listening, which is why I break down abstract numbers into visual, real-world examples. Rather than encouraging students to memorize formulas, my methodology focuses heavily on interactive problem-solving, visual digital whiteboards, and building a deep conceptual understanding. This philosophy directly shapes my typical 50-minute lesson plan, which begins with a quick five-minute review or warm-up puzzle before moving into a 15-minute interactive introduction of the new topic featuring step-by-step examples. The core of the session is a 25-minute guided practice where the student takes the lead to solve problems while receiving real-time feedback, concluding with a final five-minute wrap-up to highlight their wins and set small milestones for the next session.
