About William
Currently studying my second year of mechanical engineering which has problem-solving right at the core. I believe that if maths learning was structured this way from a lower level, it would be more engaging and that struggling students would be better catered for by helping them to develop the problem-solving skills and methods to apply them that is often considered natural by the system. I struggled through GCSE and A levels having to work harder than necessary to achieve my grades just because my teachers assumed I had skills like problem-solving that I just didn't have or know how to use. I spent half the time trying to understand how to approach questions my classmates got near instantly. I don't want any student to experience that like I had to. Hence why I focus on developing skills that teach you how to tackle the unknown.

I focus on improving key skills at all levels to provide a strong foundation on which to build from. Through the emphasis of problem-solving skills and techniques I help develop skills to answer a wide variety of questions, not simply memorisation of previous examples. Through the use of games and puzzles, I believe that learning maths can be enjoyable for everyone. I work on an evidence-based system using mini tests and quizzes to monitor progress and make changes on the move to provide the best support for an individual.
