About Mathurin
I achieved strong results in A Level Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and I am also bilingual in French. I am familiar with AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards, and I teach with exam success in mind. I help students prepare for assessments by teaching time management techniques, exam-style problem breakdown, and how to spot common question patterns. We also focus on building clear, methodical working, so students can maximise marks even when unsure of the final answer. Alongside my studies, I gave after-school science presentations, lessons and one-to-one tutoring to pupils aged 13–17. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style across different ages and abilities, and deepened my enjoyment of teaching. My goal is to build both subject knowledge and problem-solving skills, so students leave each session more confident, independent, and well-prepared for their exams.

I take an involved and supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students identify and overcome their weaknesses without simply giving them the answers. My lessons are interactive and tailored to each student’s needs, encouraging independent thinking while providing clear guidance. Each session usually begins with a short discussion to identify goals for the lesson and review any areas of difficulty from previous work. From there, I break topics into clear, manageable steps, using examples and questions to check understanding as we go. I then guide students through carefully chosen practice problems, encouraging them to explain their reasoning and develop problem-solving strategies. To finish, I provide a short recap of key points and set optional follow-up questions, so students leave with a clear idea of what to consolidate before our next lesson.
