I was determined not to let my accent hold me back in work presentations, so I started thinking an accent-softening coach might be a good idea—not to erase my identity, but simply to avoid miscommunication.

I ended up choosing Harry because his Instagram had a few short reels showing him doing different accents. I figured if he could switch between so many, he must have a great ear—and could probably help me identify the sounds I wasn’t getting quite right. And I was right. Turns out Harry is also a professionally trained actor, so his lessons are far from boring or your typical language classes. He also brings proper voice training tools and techniques into the sessions.

I’ve been working with him for about 5 months now. I’m not entirely sure how much my accent has changed, but at the very least, I’ve started noticing when I’m not pronouncing something the way I intend to—which is already a big step forward.
