About Lashuana
I am passionate about empowering young people and helping them build confidence in their learning. I believe English is an essential skill that opens doors for children and supports their independence and future opportunities. I have experience working with young people in both local and cross-cultural settings, including mentoring high school students as a youth leader and supporting children through international outreach work with Youth With A Mission (YWAM).
Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to connect with children from diverse backgrounds. I enjoy creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel safe to try, make mistakes, and improve at their own pace. My focus is always on making learning simple, engaging, and tailored to each child’s individual needs.

My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging and practical, with a strong focus on helping children feel comfortable and confident using English. I believe language learning works best when students are actively engaged, so I use simple conversation, interactive activities, repetition and real-life examples to build speaking, listening and vocabulary skills.
Each lesson is personalised to the child’s needs, level and learning style. I adapt my approach depending on their age, confidence and goals, and aim to create a positive environment where mistakes are seen as part of learning.
A typical lesson would run for around 45–60 minutes, allowing time to introduce new vocabulary, practise speaking and listening, and reinforce learning through short activities or games. I keep lessons structured but flexible, depending on the student’s attention span and needs.
I have experience supporting children in cross-cultural settings through Youth With A Mission (YWAM), where I assisted with English learning activities in orphanages and community programs. This helped me develop strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to engage with children from diverse backgrounds in a supportive way. I am also a youth leader, which has strengthened my ability to connect with young people and create safe, trusting environments.
My lessons are designed for children under 15 who are learning English as an additional language, from beginner to lower-intermediate level. I focus on building confidence, communication skills and a strong foundation in everyday English.
