About Miller

I’ve spent more than 30 years helping students discover that learning doesn’t have to be intimidating—it can be exciting, rewarding, and even fun. I bring a unique combination of education, international experience, and real-world knowledge to every lesson I teach.

I hold two university degrees in business, with an academic foundation that includes accounting, finance, management, and international business. I also completed international studies at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan, giving me firsthand experience learning and communicating across languages and cultures. My academic background also includes advanced mathematics and analytical coursework, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA, including studies through Calculus II, Physics 401, and Logic II.

Japan has been an important part of both my education and my life. I have lived, studied, and worked extensively in Japan, including in Osaka, Okayama, Hyogo, and Aichi Prefectures. These experiences have given me an understanding of Japanese language and culture that goes far beyond textbooks, as well as a deep appreciation for the challenges students face when learning and communicating in another language.

For more than three decades, I have taught English, ESL, Japanese, mathematics, and other academic subjects to students with different backgrounds, abilities, and goals. I believe every student can succeed when their teacher takes the time to understand how they learn. That’s why I personalize my lessons around each student’s strengths, interests, and objectives rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Most importantly, I focus on results. Approximately 99% of my students have achieved the goals we established together. Whether your goal is speaking English with confidence, improving your Japanese, mastering a difficult math concept, preparing academically, or advancing professionally, I will be there to support and challenge you along the way.

About the lesson

Hello! I’m Kevin, an experienced educator with more than 30 years of teaching experience in English, ESL, and Japanese.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students of different ages, backgrounds, and ability levels, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals. I’m proud to have a proven track record of approximately 99% of my students reaching the goals we set together.

In addition to language instruction, I have a strong academic background in mathematics and analytical subjects, earning a 4.0 GPA in university-level mathematics coursework, including studies through Calculus II, Physics 401, and Logic II. This allows me to support students who need both strong communication skills and structured, logical approaches to learning.

My teaching philosophy is simple: every student learns differently. I adapt my lessons to the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to one teaching method. I focus on making difficult concepts understandable, practical, and engaging while creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
