About Emily
I’m an energetic, fun-loving artist and book lover who’s happiest when I’m outdoors: hiking, camping, or exploring nature. I’m passionate about working with children and finding ways to spark their curiosity. I've worked with kids for the majority of my life, starting babysitting at 13 and later working at an overnight summer camp for five summers. For me, teaching is about helping students feel confident, creative, and excited to learn. I bring energy, enthusiasm, and a love of learning to every activity. I don't just want to help students achieve good grades; I aim to foster true understanding and appreciation for learning, setting students up for success both in the present and the future.

I am a Carleton University journalism graduate with a minor in political science, earning a place on the Dean’s List and previously graduating high school on the honour roll. I am currently studying at the University of Ottawa to become a certified teacher, and I bring both academic excellence and hands-on teaching experience to my tutoring.
My specialty is English and literacy, where I have the most experience, but I also offer tutoring in history and geography for all ages, as well as low-level math and science. I believe every student learns differently, so my approach is personal and flexible—tailored to each individual’s learning style, strengths, and goals. Together, we focus on building understanding, confidence, and the tools needed for long-term success.
Whether your child needs help mastering reading comprehension, essay writing, study skills, or subject-specific content, I aim to make each lesson engaging, encouraging, and effective.
