About Susan Caroline

I am a dedicated and experienced English teacher with a Bachelor of Education and more than 25 years of teaching experience in South Africa and international schools in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. I have taught English First Language, English Second Language and Literature across a wide range of secondary school levels, including the Cambridge curriculum.

My attitude towards teaching is based on the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to learn, develop confidence and reach their full potential. I am patient, approachable and supportive, but I also believe in maintaining clear boundaries, high expectations and mutual respect in the classroom.

I see teaching as more than simply delivering a lesson. It is about understanding students as individuals, recognising their different abilities and finding ways to help them succeed. I aim to make my lessons interesting, structured and relevant while encouraging students to think independently and express their ideas with confidence.

I am passionate about education and take pride in seeing my students grow both academically and personally. I believe that a good teacher should be fair, consistent, adaptable and willing to continue learning throughout their career.

About the lesson

My lessons are engaging, well-structured and student-centred. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident to participate, ask questions and develop their skills. I adapt my teaching methods to meet different learning needs and use a variety of activities to keep students motivated and involved. I encourage independent thinking while providing clear guidance and constructive feedback.

I have a professional, respectful and cooperative attitude towards my colleagues and other members of staff. I value teamwork, open communication and the sharing of ideas and resources. I am always willing to support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.

I treat all students with fairness, patience and respect while maintaining clear expectations regarding behaviour and academic effort. I believe that positive relationships and consistent boundaries help students feel secure and allow them to achieve their potential.

I communicate with parents in a professional, approachable and respectful manner. I believe that good communication between teachers and parents is important for supporting a student’s academic progress and overall development. I am willing to listen to concerns, provide honest feedback and work together with parents to find constructive solutions when challenges arise.
