About Yumin
I'm Korean-Canadian and have built my career in English in Toronto for over a decade, so I know the journey from the inside. I studied English Language and Literature, hold a TESOL certificate from Trinity College London, and taught ESL in Seoul. I also coached flight attendant candidates for airline job interviews, and later designed training and onboarding programs at IDP Education. Today I work as an instructional designer and interpret between Korean and English, so I understand both languages deeply and how to move between them.
저도 토론토에서 영어로 10년 넘게 일하며 커리어를 쌓아온 한국계 캐나다인이라, 영어가 왜 어렵고 어디서 막히는지 누구보다 잘 압니다. 영어영문학을 전공했고, Trinity College London TESOL 자격을 갖고 있으며, 서울에서 영어를 가르쳤습니다. 항공사 승무원 지원자들의 면접 코칭도 했고, 이후 IELTS를 운영하는 IDP Education에서 교육·온보딩 프로그램을 설계했습니다. 지금은 교수설계자(Instructional Designer)로 일하며 한영 통역도 하고 있어요. 두 언어 사이를 오가는 법을 직접 경험으로 알려드릴게요.

These lessons are for Korean speakers who want English that works in real Canadian life: students, newcomers and professionals preparing for a job interview, speaking up in meetings, or finally feeling relaxed in everyday conversation.
In our first lesson we map your goal and the situations where English feels hardest. Then we practice those exact situations: answering interview questions, small talk with coworkers, writing a clear email, or giving your opinion in a meeting. Every lesson ends with a short recap and one or two things to practice, and every five lessons we check your progress and adjust.
Because Korean is my first language, I know exactly why English feels hard for Korean speakers, from articles and prepositions to sounding too direct or too indirect. When it helps, I can explain in Korean, so nothing gets lost.

Free 30-minute first lesson to talk about your goals and try a short mini-lesson. Online lessons are $25/hour and in-person lessons in Toronto are $30/hour. Packs save you more: 5 hours for $115 and 10 hours for $225. Please give 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel; late cancellations are charged as a full lesson.
