As an English language student, I use a simple, clear, and student-friendly approach to teaching Tagalog (Filipino). My goal is to make learning easy to understand, especially for beginners who may feel intimidated by a new language.
Teaching method and techniques:
I focus on basic conversation, practical vocabulary, and real-life examples. I avoid overcomplicated grammar at the start and instead build confidence through speaking practice. I also use repetition, interactive questions, and step-by-step explanations so students can learn naturally.
Typical lesson plan:
A usual lesson starts with a short review of previous topics, followed by introducing new vocabulary or phrases. Then we practice pronunciation and simple sentence construction. Finally, I include short conversation exercises or situational dialogues (for example: introducing yourself, ordering food, or asking directions). I end each lesson with a quick recap and small practice tasks.
What sets me apart as a tutor:
Even though I am still a student, I understand what it feels like to learn a new language. This helps me explain lessons in a more relatable and less intimidating way. I focus on patience, encouragement, and making lessons enjoyable rather than stressful.
