About Olivia

I am a university graduate in English Literature and History. I am currently working as a senior editor, journalist, illustrator, bookseller, and tutor.

I live and breathe words, and am thrived at the prospect of helping others improve on their writing and reading comprehension skills. My classes are designed to aid students academically, but also to sharpen their critical thinking, and develop their verbal eloquence—vital skills especially in these interesting times we live in.

About the lesson

First lessons are mainly focused on discussing with the student about their particular goals, and identifying what are the particular areas which need improvement.

My teaching style is purposely flexible, as each student will require a customized lesson plan which will suit their needs most. Rather than thrusting upon them with a set fixed syllabus, I aim to incorporate students' own preferred teaching methodologies within our class structure. Everyone is different, and thus everyone learns differently. I believe this ultimately creates a much more dynamic and engaging teaching experience for both of us. It's important to me that my connections with students are based on transparency, consistent communication, support, and respect.

I specialize in English Literature, History, Communications, Language arts, Creative writing. However, I also tutor for a wide variety of humanities disciplines, such as History, Anthropology, Marketing, etc.
