About Malia

I am an English student, currently taking English 1 in 8th grade at an Advanced Studies Academy. Due to my young age, I appeal to a younger audience so that I can teach what I've already learned. I would be a great teacher especially since I've just learned these things and the knowledge is fresh in my mind. I have never failed an English test, and my skills can help your child. English is also my first language, so I can work as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor. I want to inspire younger students with my teaching methods, having fun and improving reading and literacy skills on the way.

About the lesson

As an English tutor specializing in early childhood to elementary education, my teaching method is centered on creating a joyful and engaging learning experience that fosters a love for reading and writing. I believe in nurturing creativity and building foundational literacy skills through interactive and play-based techniques.

Teaching Method and Techniques: I use a blend of storytelling, hands-on activities, and games to make learning fun and effective. By integrating phonics, vocabulary building, and comprehension strategies, I create a dynamic environment where students are encouraged to express themselves and explore language in meaningful ways. My approach includes visual aids and interactive read-alouds to cater to different learning styles.

A Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson begins with a warm-up activity, such as a fun song or a short story. I then introduce a new phonics concept or vocabulary words through engaging visuals and interactive games. Students practice the new skills through guided reading or writing exercises. We conclude with a review and a creative activity, such as drawing a scene from the story, to reinforce the day's lessons.

I am dedicated to building strong relationships with my students, allowing me to tailor my approach to their individual interests and needs. My patience and enthusiasm help inspire students to take risks and explore their creativity.
