About Victoria

I have 20 years experience in tutoring. I also work in the theatre with accents, scripts and delivering large speeches. I freelance for Salford University and write poetry books too.
Each student has their own level of understanding. We work together to address any blank areas or weaknesses, once strengthened together we work on what is required at the students particular level of study. All my students to date have achieved the required grades needed and always increase their standard quickly whilst being able to carry a heightened confidence into the next journey of their career or education.

Regarding undergraduate and MA students we work on techniques, structure, Harvard referencing, academic standards and proof reading.

With regards to GCSE students the skills needed have changed and the student is required to understand basic linguistic theory and how that manifest in practice – both by observing it and analysing it as well as demonstrating understanding through creative writing. Together we develop these skills, not only for the exam and grade but so that the student can apply their knowledge and practical ability with the English language in life too.

About the lesson

I help students achieve their targets & goals.
If there are areas of weakness we address them.
I work with GCSE through to MA and help EFL.
I also work on spoken english using phonetics to great success.
It is vital to have an enthusiastic approach, whilst being thorough.
I use techniques that actors use when approaching text and I find that it is important to expand the students vocabulary by reading aloud, using dictionaries and really understand the text, script, research material or core texts.
With regards to accents and achieving a standard english accent- the process i use gradually picks up all the habits and reduces them– just as an actor does working on a new character–we replace the habit with the standard phonetic pronunciation.

With all study - routine is key.
