About Shreyaa

Hi! My name is Shreyaa, and I'm currently a medical student at UT Southwestern Medical Center after graduating from UT Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience. I've always enjoyed learning and sharing knowledge, which led me to become both a Biology Teaching Assistant and a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) mentor during college. Those experiences reinforced my passion for helping others build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

During my gap year, I worked as a medical assistant in a neurology clinic, where patient education became one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Explaining complex medical concepts in a way that patients and their families could easily understand showed me how valuable clear communication, patience, and adaptability are. These are qualities I strive to bring into every tutoring session.

Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring new coffee shops and restaurants, painting, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. I believe learning should feel encouraging rather than intimidating, and I hope to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing with confidence. I am also fluent in both English and Tamil and am happy to communicate with students and families in either language.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the student's goals, learning style, and pace. Whether you're preparing for an upcoming exam, working through homework, or trying to build a stronger foundation in a subject, my goal is to make learning feel approachable and engaging.

Rather than relying on memorization alone, I focus on helping students understand the "why" behind concepts so they can apply what they learn with confidence. I encourage questions, adapt my explanations when something isn't clicking, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling more confident than when they started.
