About Marc

I've been teaching English for four years, working with students of all ages and levels in both group and one-on-one settings. I also speak Russian, so I understand firsthand what it takes to learn a language and what kind of support actually makes a difference.
I got into teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping people communicate more clearly and confidently. There's nothing better than watching a student go from hesitating over every sentence to holding a real, flowing conversation. My goal in every lesson is to create a space where you feel comfortable making mistakes, because that's where the real learning happens.
I'm patient, easy to talk to, and I take the time to understand what each student actually needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you're preparing for an exam, improving your English for work, or just want someone to practice speaking with, I'll meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be.

About the lesson

I believe the best way to learn English is through real conversation, not textbook drills. My method centers on getting students talking from the very first lesson, building confidence alongside accuracy. I correct naturally during conversation rather than interrupting flow, and I tailor how much correction I give based on what each student prefers and needs.
A typical lesson starts with a quick warm-up chat about how your week's going or anything interesting happening. This gets you thinking in English right away. From there, we move into the main focus, which depends on your goals. It might be discussing an article or video to build vocabulary and fluency, working through an essay structure for academic purposes, practicing a job interview or presentation, or tackling a grammar point that keeps tripping you up. I wrap up by highlighting new vocabulary and key corrections from the session so you leave with something concrete to remember.
I'm a native American English speaker with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and four years of teaching experience across a wide range of levels and ages. I speak Russian as a second language, which gives me genuine insight into the challenges of language learning. I know what it feels like to search for a word that won't come, and I bring that empathy into every lesson. My background in Philosophy means I'm comfortable discussing anything from everyday small talk to complex academic and abstract topics, and I genuinely enjoy doing so.
I work with teens and adults at all levels, from elementary to advanced. I'm especially well-suited for students who want to improve conversational fluency and feel more natural when speaking, students working on academic English for university (essays, presentations, formal writing), and professionals who need English for work but want lessons that don't feel like work.
