I am an eager and energetic English teacher with over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience including teaching secondary students (grades 6-12), in college, and English as a Foreign Language to students in Seoul, South Korea. While teaching at a Seoul women's university, I even tutored a nun working on her Ph.D.
I have a dual master's degree in English (specializing in American Literature) and Library Science. I graduated magna cum laude at Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education.
I believe with hard work and a positive attitude that every student can succeed. The reason I enjoy tutoring is because it is a chance to work individually. As a public school teacher, I never felt there was enough time to help on a 1:1 basis in the classroom; tutoring allows this opportunity to help make a difference.
As a qualified writing and reading tutor, I can help with grammar, writing papers, reading comprehension and literary works, as well as "real world" writing such as resumes, speeches, and college essays. I have also helped students in ACT and SAT test prep skills.
