About Sharmla

I am currently employed, and have been for the past six years by an international company as an English tutor, teaching English to foreign students, my classes generally consist of six students per lesson. As someone who is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service at all times, I am always intimately involved in all aspects of teaching, particular when it comes down to planning and delivering classes in detail. In every class I’ve taught I’ve always striven to bring new energy, fresh ideas and a different way of thinking. I also enjoy helping to guide the student to achieving his or her goal. With this employer I have a well deserved reputation for ensuring that the student is at the center of all my work and for keeping up to date with new teaching styles and innovations in education.

I am also a registered homeschooler with the South African Dept of Education. I have homeschooled my youngest daughter, who is now a Psychology graduate. During the 18 year period as a registered homeschooler, I tutored many other children in the English language. I have a studied Basic Psychology and have done basic courses in Business Management and Business Accounting during my employment with several companies in South Africa. I am also a published author and my book is currently available at Amazon.com; “Journeys of the Soul”

In addition to this I have extensive knowledge of dealing with people from different backgrounds and of all age groups. I also have considerable understanding of how to include and make people feel welcome as I have also worked in the Hospitality Industry.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on not just learning a language but learning how to communicate, to learn how to use language skills as a tool to express ideas, thoughts & feelings with clarity. My methodology in classes are interactive, allowing students to assist each other and build trust , confidence & team effort.
