About Sharadha

CELTA-Certified English Language Mentor | Award-Winning Educator
BITS Pilani Graduate | Postgraduate in Instructional Design | 15+ Years Experience

I design creative writing experiences that nurture imaginative thinkers, confident writers, and expressive communicators. Through personalised, structured mentoring, I help students develop the skills to write with creativity, clarity, and purpose.

Sessions focus on building creative thinking, descriptive writing, clear organisation of ideas, vocabulary, and practical writing techniques, so that students learn to communicate their thoughts clearly, confidently, and engagingly.

As the Winner of the CENTA International Teacher’s Olympiad (English) 2024 and a consistent Top 10 national rank holder in previous editions, I bring strong language expertise and a thoughtful approach to writing development. With a Master’s degree from BITS Pilani and a postgraduate qualification in Instructional Design, I combine clear teaching methods with a structured, step-by-step approach to developing effective writing skills.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, I work with students who wish to become confident, articulate, and expressive writers.

CREATIVE WRITING APPROACH

Sessions begin with understanding the student’s current ability, reading habits, and areas for improvement.

Based on this, I design a step-by-step plan that focuses on important creative writing techniques such as:
- Generating and developing ideas for both fiction and non-fiction
- Writing clear, well-organised paragraphs with appropriate structure and logical sequence
- Using descriptive language and sensory details to make writing vivid and engaging
- Understanding character development, dialogue, and point of view
- Using appropriate voice, tone, and personal expression in non-fiction to communicate ideas with clarity and impact

Students learn not just what to write, but also how effective writing works — how to organise ideas, develop engaging pieces, and communicate with clarity and creativity.

With regular practice and guidance, students usually show steady improvement in fluency, vocabulary, descriptive ability, and confidence in written expression.

STUDENT RESULTS

- Students learn to write engaging and well-structured pieces across different creative formats.
- Many learners move from short or hesitant writing to confident, organised expression.
- Some students have published articles and creative pieces in newspapers and online platforms after focused mentoring.
- Learners often show stronger vocabulary, clearer expression, and greater confidence in written communication.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This mentoring is ideal for students who:
- Want to develop stronger writing skills and clearer expression
- Are interested in both fiction and non-fiction creative writing
= Value clear guidance and thoughtful feedback
- Are willing to practice regularly and improve consistently

I also work closely with parents to ensure clear goals and steady progress.

If you are looking for structured creative writing mentoring that helps students become confident and expressive writers, feel free to get in touch to discuss your goals.

Sessions are designed based on the learner’s current writing level, interests, and areas that need development.

In each session, students learn how to generate ideas, organise their thoughts clearly, and express them in an engaging and structured way. They are also guided to understand how effective writing works — how ideas develop, how paragraphs are structured, and how to refine their work through thoughtful editing.

Sessions include:
- Idea generation and guided practice in both fiction and non-fiction writing
- Developing clear, well-structured paragraphs and longer pieces of writing
- Descriptive writing using imagery and sensory details to make writing vivid
- Vocabulary development through reading, discussion, and practical usage
- Constructive feedback and revision to strengthen clarity and expression

The aim is not just to improve writing skills, but to help learners gain confidence in expressing their ideas and enjoy the process of writing.

Progress is monitored regularly, and lessons are adjusted to ensure that students improve steadily while gradually developing their unique writing voice.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I have extensive experience in teaching Communicative English, Business English, and IELTS to people of different age groups with diverse backgrounds and language proficiency levels. I also coach for various exams focusing on English language skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening). My interest in English was fuelled by my love for reading and listening to short stories and folktales. As a child writer, I published stories in newspapers and magazines. My teachers at school played an important role in inspiring me to pursue a career in teaching English.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My grandfather was a professor in reputed institutions for nearly five decades. He had a strong influence on my decision to choose the teaching profession. I was fortunate to be mentored by him throughout my schooling. I discovered my affinity for the English language under his guidance and support. His remarkable ability to impact people's lives resonates with me even today as I strive to inspire students to develop curiosity and interest in learning.
  • How does your work help society?

I believe effective communication plays a crucial role in shaping a connected, inclusive, harmonious, and empathetic society. At an individual level, it fosters personal growth and professional success. It also empowers individuals to actively engage in diverse social and cultural environments. Furthermore, language proficiency opens doors to educational and employment opportunities at a global level. This equips individuals to achieve their dreams and aspirations and make meaningful contributions to society. As a language teacher, my objective is to inspire students to recognize and utilize the power of effective communication. By guiding them toward achieving their language proficiency goals, I strive to empower them to thrive and excel in their personal and professional endeavors.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is my grandfather. He was an exceptional teacher, mentor, and guide who showed me the path to follow my passion. He instilled curiosity in students and encouraged them to explore the subjects at their own pace. Many students he mentored did exceptionally well in their professional life and always remained in touch with him. This is a testament to the profound impact he had on their lives! I am motivated to carry forward this legacy and use the power of education to empower students and foster a genuine love for learning by providing a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I love trekking as it brings me close to nature. I find joy in immersing myself in the world of music, especially when I am stressed. As a story-lover, I watch movies and talk shows quite often. If I desire a mental workout, I become engrossed in solving puzzles. Furthermore, I have developed a flair for cooking and enjoy creating delicious and healthy dishes. These diverse interests bring balance and fulfillment to an otherwise hectic life.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

Over the past decade, I have worked with numerous students from diverse backgrounds. However, a truly unique and unforgettable experience was the opportunity to teach parents, teachers, and students at a rural school. I was given complete freedom to design the Communicative English curriculum, create interactive activities, and mentor the students to participate in an exclusive "Spoken English Exhibition" organized by the school. I hold this transformative experience very close to my heart as it laid the foundation for my customized student-centric approach to language teaching.
