About Rachel
I have been actively tutoring students since I was in high school in subjects including English, math, and science. I continued throughout college to mentor peers, later graduating at the top of my class in English from the University of Connecticut. A few years ago, I took my love of teaching to Moshi, Tanzania in Africa, where I taught a preschool class the English alphabet -- talk about a challenge! I am currently pursuing a Master's in Secondary Education and plan to become a full-time English teacher once completed.

When tutoring, I take time to assess the areas that need improvement and personalize my lessons to each student's specific area of struggle. This way, lessons can be productive, effective, and focused solely on what the student needs. I am also a strong believer that fun and patience are the keystones for any good tutor! When you put fun into learning, it no longer becomes work. The best part of my job is seeing a return student who is excited that it is a tutoring day.
