About Emerah

My name is Amanda Emerah, and I am a friendly, patient, and professional English tutor based in Lagos.

I have professional experience in a customer-facing environment, where clear communication, active listening, and patience are important every day. This has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to work comfortably with people from different backgrounds.

I believe learning English should be practical, engaging, and comfortable. I create a supportive environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence without feeling judged.

My lessons are suitable for adults and young adults at beginner and intermediate levels, with a focus on conversational English, grammar, vocabulary, and workplace communication. I adapt my lessons to each student’s needs, pace, and goals.

About the lesson

My name is Amanda Emerah, and I take a practical, patient, and student-focused approach to teaching English.

My lessons are designed to help students not only understand English but also feel confident using it in real-life situations. I combine conversation practice, guided exercises, grammar explanations, vocabulary building, reading and writing activities, and role-play exercises depending on the student’s goals and level.

I encourage students to actively participate during lessons rather than simply listen. I also provide constructive corrections and explanations in a supportive way, so students can learn from their mistakes without feeling uncomfortable.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. We usually begin with a short conversation or review, followed by the main lesson topic and practical exercises. We finish with feedback and a small task or recommendation for continued practice.

I have professional experience in a customer-facing environment where clear communication, patience, active listening, and professionalism are important. This experience has strengthened my ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds and help them express themselves clearly.

My lessons are suitable for adults and young adults, particularly beginners and intermediate learners who want to improve their conversational English, grammar, vocabulary, writing, pronunciation, or workplace communication.

I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs, learning pace, and goals, whether they want to become more confident in everyday conversations or communicate more effectively in a professional environment.
