About Tiffney
Hello, my name is Tiffney. I am a sophomore in high school and have a deep love for children and teaching English! Though I am still in high school, I have earned many awards, around 10 or more medals, for my reading and English skills. An example of an award I have won is an English reading award for having 100% accuracy on tests and 100% of my goals complete! I am also in a private school, the academic level of this private school is equal to AP courses in public school, why am I mentioning this you may ask? I mentioned it because it means that I have taken a year of AP English and am currently on my second year!

My typical teaching methods and techniques:
My teaching methods is student centered and involves students participating in activities to help them actively learn and incorporating things they love into the learning to keep them interested!
A typical lesson plan looks like:
Lets say I were to tutor for 2 hours (from 5-7 PM) here is what the schedule would look like!
5-5:20 learning time= teaching/reviewing
5:20-5:25 break time
5:25-6:00 learning- reading together
6:00-6:05 break
6:05-6:25 learning time- practicing vocabulary, spelling, and pronunciation
6:25-6:30 break
6:30-7:00 learning time- writing practice
(Note: breaks can be 5 or 10 minutes long depending on your preference!)
What sets me apart from other tutors?
1. I have a deep love for children and love working with them!
2. I always do my best to make the lessons interesting to help the child actively learn!
3. I include breaks so that the child can have a little time to relax for a bit and freshen up their brain (if requested to not be included that is fine too!)
4. I am patient when it comes to children and can adapt to different kinds of children!
5. I enjoy teaching, have a deep love for knowledge and learning! :)
