About Maxine
Hi, I´m Maxine. I absolutely love teaching and I would love to help you improve your English. I´m a native English speaker from South Africa and I´ve been teaching English with Skype for 3 years. I have a TEFL qualification and I teach adults, teens, children, and beginners. I am a qualified Human Resource practitioner with over 10 years of corporate experience. The last four years I have been working for an online tutoring company teaching English to adult and junior clients. I am a peoples person and love meeting people and sharing my knowledge of Human Resource Management and the English language too.
I´m very patient and I want you to feel comfortable with me so that you can practice without worrying about making mistakes.
I specialize in conversation; training the student to gain greater fluency by talking as much as possible and develop listening (comprehension) skills.
During these conversations, I will train your pronunciation, manner of speaking, diction, grammatical accuracy and broaden your vocabulary, as this will help you steadily gain fluency. We will work to reduce your accent, to help you sound more like a native, and build confidence in your conversational abilities. I will simultaneously develop your reading abilities and comprehension.
Every class is engaging and fun, using well-structured materials. We will have a great time role-playing together while you practice interacting with me in a variety of situations where you will need to communicate effectively in English.
