About Emma

I’m Emma, an English student and tutor in Montreal. I work with students from middle school through the undergraduate level in English language and literature, and I also teach art to elementary through high school students.

I have an Associate’s degree in English with a 4.0 GPA and am currently completing my Bachelor’s in English Literature. I earned a perfect score on the AP English Literature and Composition exam, and I'm passionate about making English approachable and exciting for students.

About the lesson

I believe language arts is one of the most important subjects. Be it through essay writing, literary analysis, or comprehension, English equips us to communicate with clarity and creativity. My goal is to help students succeed academically while building skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Lessons begin with the student’s immediate needs—an essay draft, test prep, or reading assignment—before moving into targeted instruction.

My sessions are best suited for middle school to undergraduate students, whether they’re building fundamentals or refining advanced work. I adapt to each learner’s level, goals, and style to make English a subject they can master—and confidently add to their skill set.

TAKE THIS TEACHER! That's my recommendation! Emma is, without a doubt, the most focused tutor I've had. She is reliable because she has a good sense of direction, she never gets too distracted with anything, and stays on topic, keeping the lesson structured. She has this great resource for essay writing too, which answered all my questions, like she could read my mind! It was amazing!
