About Janny Maye
Hello! I’m an experienced teacher who enjoys helping students become more comfortable and confident using English. I hold an EF SET English Certificate at C2 Proficient level, with strong reading and listening skills.
My teaching approach is patient, friendly, and interactive. I believe students learn best when they actively use English, so I focus on conversation, reading, listening, vocabulary, and comprehension rather than grammar and memorization alone.
I welcome learners of different ages and levels who are willing and motivated to improve. Lessons can also be built around topics that interest you, such as science, history, arts, culture, or everyday life. I believe discussing topics you enjoy makes learning English more natural, engaging, and enjoyable.
Whether you want to practice everyday conversation, improve your reading and comprehension, build your vocabulary, or simply become more confident speaking English, I’m happy to help.

I believe students learn English best when they actively use it. My lessons are interactive and adapted to each student's level, using conversation, stories, reading, and interesting topics to build vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence.
Sample Summary Lesson Plan: The Fox and the Hare
1. Introduce the story and ask what the student already knows.
2. Show pictures and discuss the characters.
3. Tutor reads the story while the student follows along and marks unfamiliar words.
4. Student reads the story with assistance.
5. Check the student's understanding of the story.
6. Identify and group unfamiliar vocabulary.
7. Practice pronunciation and explain each selected word.
8. Use example sentences and ask the student to create their own.
9. Re-read the words and relevant parts of the story.
10. Discuss the story through questions and conversation.
11. Review the new vocabulary.
12. Give feedback and optional writing/homework activity
