About Sori
I am an English tutor/teacher with many years of experience in teaching students of all ages in a wide range of classes, from one-on-one tutoring to larger groups. I have a master's degree in TESOL at University College London. Some of my greatest achievements in teaching academic English are my students accepted on to the courses they applied for (King's College, London & UC Davids, California & KIS international school, Korea). In the academic English writing lessons, students would learn how to structure advanced essays including how to support their stance in the argument with logics, while in the reading class, they would learn and be asked to identify and discuss the main points of reading materials.
I am also very experienced in teaching young kids: from phonics to general English skills. I have thought phonics to more than 30 pupils who couldn't read when I first met them and seeing them progress to sounding out words and eventually being able to read independently has been a great source of satisfaction.

For a speaking and reading lesson, I approach each topic by Content-Based Instruction. In my class, students would expand their vocabulary and use English as a means of acquiring new information and knowledge. They are also asked to read given reading materials which focus on the real topics of the world and asked to discuss them in the class. Between the readings, there are comprehension questions such as answering quizzes and filling blanks to make sure students follow the lessons.
In an academic writing class, students would have opportunities to cover various topics and learn how to structure advanced essays from scratch. They would learn to identify the main point of a topic and build supporting ideas and examples for their argument in essays.
