About Sabrina
I am not a tutor that passively assists students with their schoolwork, though my students do occasionally ask for help there. All of my lessons feature original material, and I always work with my student's interests to create lessons that are engaging to them! For example, I have done journal writing focused on Pokémon, creative writing exercises using excerpts from Percy Jackson books, and assigned projects surrounding Disney characters. I care about what my students are into, and I try to integrate it into our learning as much as possible.
I have worked with students ranging from 2 to 15 years old, though my focus now lies with upper middle and high schoolers.

As a private tutor I create individual lesson plans for each of my students, with curriculum customized to their specific needs and goals. I have experience teaching SSAT for private school admissions, SAT preparation, grammar, creative writing, reading comprehension, and preschool education.
A typical English lesson will include some practice labeling grammar in a sentence, reading comprehension passages, journal writing, and creative writing exercises. Additionally, I majored in marketing and was in the top 10% of my business college, so I am able to create lessons for ESL students interested in business English.
I also specialize in SSAT (private school admissions) and SAT test preparation, with my most recent student's (14yrs) SAT score improving nearly 200 points in just 6 months of work (4 lessons/month) together.
