I am in enrichment math at Southern Cross Grammar, where I am currently averaging an A+. This achievement reflects my dedication and understanding of advanced mathematical concepts, which I am excited to share with my students. When I plan a math lesson for students from Prep to Year 8, I aim to make it engaging and educational. I start with a warm-up activity to get everyone thinking mathematically, which might be a counting game for younger students or a quiz for older ones. I then clearly outline the lesson objectives, so the students know what they'll be learning and why it matters. Introducing the main topic, I use visual aids and examples tailored to their level, such as basic number sense for Preps or algebraic expressions for Year 8s. I teach from the Australian curriculum and will be using questions from there. I wrap up with a review of key concepts and a quick assessment to gauge their understanding. If applicable, I assign homework to reinforce the day's lesson, ensuring it aligns with each student's abilities. My goal is to create a balanced lesson that's both informative and enjoyable, helping my students develop a strong foundation in math.
