About Emily

I am a primary school teacher. I have been teaching for five years where my classes consisted of 25 children. I have also taught English as a foreign language in Thailand. I au-paired and tutored children for a couple of years during my part-time studies. I have also worked as a play volunteer at a children's hospital.

About the lesson

I always enjoy changing up the way I do lessons. I focus on making my lessons student centred so that they are more in control of the lesson with me as a facilitator. However, this can only be done if the students are English speaking and if it is a content heavy subject (such as History). My students have always enjoyed being able to engage with the content on their own first and then they come up with creative ways of how to teach the rest of the class. I like to use lots of visuals and drama/effective facial expressions when I teach. It is important that one keeps it creative and dynamic.
