About Max
My name is Max. I am a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering expert. I am very passionate about mathematics: either teaching it, or just learning about it for the sheer joy it brings ;-)
I have read Engineering at university (second class Hons Bachelor of Engineering), and maths has always been my strongest subject (Engineering Maths and Advanced Engineering Maths). I have taught for several years, on and off, as I have been pursuing other interests, like travelling. I have also completed my masters in Electrical Engineering, and got an M.Sc (Merit) at 70.4%, along with THE best mark in my final M.Sc. project (thesis), scoring 81%.
My style can vary from informal to strict, depending on your preparation and motivation. Once you have understood a given topic, and become in a position to do the homework, I would expect you to try it and give it a very good go. Ask questions (please always do), take notes, try to get a general understanding of principles first. Then PRACTISE! I will give you enough to keep you busy, but you can always do more, and I wouldn't mind marking/checking the extra work for you!!
I have taught mathematics to many students in the past. More than half of them had been struggling before I had started teaching them. This is not surprising, as maths is almost universally acknowledged to be a challenging subject.
Apart from maths, I can also teach the following:
AutoCAD
Mechanical Engineering (BTEC, HND/HNC/BEng); also some Electrical Engineering units
University: Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics; Thermodynamics, etc, and of course mathematics.
Programming
English (grammar, fluency and other skills, and up to supervision of technical essays at university level)
