About Turner
Music has always been a source of inspiration for me, and teaching guitar allows me to share that passion with others. With Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music, I combine formal training with years of teaching and performance experience to guide students effectively. I start lessons by focusing on core techniques such as posture, finger placement, chord transitions, rhythm, and tone control, gradually progressing to improvisation, phrasing, and creative composition. Music theory is integrated naturally into lessons, making complex concepts easy to understand and apply. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, pace, and musical interests, creating a supportive and inspiring environment. I emphasise expressive playing, encouraging students to communicate emotion and personality through music. Ear training, sight-reading, and performance preparation are essential parts of my approach. I also introduce students to a variety of genres, from classical and jazz to rock, blues, and pop, to expand their musical vocabulary. I provide personalised feedback, structured practice routines, and guidance to overcome technical challenges. My teaching balances discipline, creativity, and joy, helping students build both skill and confidence. I celebrate milestones and encourage curiosity, perseverance, and artistic exploration. Over time, students gain not only proficiency but also a deeper appreciation for music as a form of expression. I believe that every musician has a unique voice, and my goal is to help students discover and develop theirs. Teaching guitar is not just instruction—it is mentorship, inspiration, and collaboration. Watching students grow into expressive, confident performers is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Learning guitar with me means understanding not just how to play but how to feel the music. We start with posture, strumming, and chord progressions to build strong fundamentals. Then, we move to advanced skills like scales, arpeggios, and fingerstyle patterns. I connect music theory with hands-on application for deeper understanding. Lessons feature songs, riffs, and exercises tailored to your interests. I provide consistent feedback and practice strategies to accelerate progress. Sessions are structured but flexible to fit individual learning styles. You’ll develop timing, tone control, and stage confidence. I also include improvisation and creative composition exercises. Each lesson is engaging, goal-focused, and supportive. Students end each session feeling accomplished and inspired to keep growing.
