About Volkan
Im a 4th year Accounting and Finance undergraduate studying at Durham University. I achieved A* A B for my A-levels in Biology, Maths and ICT and have 12 GCSEs in which I achieved A* - A.
I am a very interactive Tutor and always start teaching by gauging where the student's knowledge of the subject they're studying so that I can help them on from there.
I use a variety of different techniques, including flashcards, highlighters, psychological memory tricks (for exam preparation) and many more methods in getting them to achieve their desired grades.
With my consistent success in education, I also have a lot of advice I can give to students in regard to external factors outside of studying and revision, including managing stress, time efficiency, homework and much more!
My experience in teaching involves home and school tutoring predominantly A - level and GCSE students for the past 4 years in subjects including biology and maths for A-levels and maths, english literature, english language, biology, physics, chemistry, history, geography, music, art, ICT, media, drama, economics, politics, law and Turkish for GCSEs.
Having worked as a commercial analyst intern for my placement year at L'oreal, I've worked with a multitude of senior brand managers and marketing associates where I took the initiative to coordinate and deliver education reporting meetings (using a reporting system called BOOST and SAP on excel) to new time users. In doing so, I have received a large amount of positive feedback in my teaching style and also managed to attain responsibility for delivering sales reports to more senior members of the Professional Products Division at L'oreal (A few well-known brands include L'oreal Professional, Decleor, Redken and Matrix!).
I am a confident individual who likes providing innovative solutions to problems and I believe this has positively affected my teaching style.
