About Sophie
Hello, I’m Sophie! I’m a recent graduate from Arizona State University. I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor in Spanish Literature and a TESOL certificate. As someone who has been adopted into a Belgian American family, I am very passionate to help students learn and develop self-confidence in English. I speak English, French, and Spanish, but I am open to help anyone who would like additional help learning English. I have previously worked with international students at ASU and at an ESL academy specializing in teaching Latino adults for a year. I worked directly with college students and adults from around the world from a beginner to intermediate level. There I was required to lead small conversational groups and begin class lessons. My goal is to create a welcoming environment for students to feel comfortable asking questions and continuing to develop their skills whether it be their grammar, vocabulary, reading, or speaking ability.

I came from Bolivia a few months ago and did not know much English. I was in a few community English classes and had a tutor hired by a sponsor, but without much luck.
