About Austin
I am Austin! I graduated magna cum laude with a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Intercultural Studies! It was a wonderful program and one of the only two TESOL programs in the country that offers an emphasis and special training in English Pronunciation. My relationship with my professors both in undergraduate and graduate studies has helped me realize the impact that personal relationships can have on your educational experience. While each professor was well-qualified in their expertise, it was the relationship that they sought to have with each student in their class that made the classroom really special. Both in my teaching and one-on-one experience I strive to model my professors to make the learning experience for my students professional but very approachable and comfortable as well.

I have been working with students for about five years and specifically in ESL the past three years. I have worked primarily with Chinese students in large class, small group and one on one settings. I mostly taught in large classes, but would provide additional assistance and tutoring to any student who needed more attention. I have the most experience working with students who want to improve their speaking and listening but am trained to handle reading and writing as well.
I want to help my students learn English as best as possible and encourage parents to offer any additional resources, suggestions or advice they have. I am easy to reach and will always respond quickly. I will be moving shortly so I apologize if my timeline does not initially match yours, but rest assured I will do my best to communicate with you throughout.
