About Pat

I studied Elementary Education for College and I am a licensed professional teacher. I have been working as one for 8 years, and still teaching little minds at the moment.
Teaching is something that I am very proud of, it comes naturally for me. I find great joy knowing my students learn and enjoy their classes with me. There nothing more rewarding to a teacher than that.

About the lesson

I have vast experience in ESL teaching! I enjoy learning so much from my students! I think it’s not everyday that you can talk to someone with different culture from yours.
My teaching technique is pretty simple; I can have free conversation with my students, conversing with appropriate topics of their choosing, and I can teach Academic English as well. I really believe that these are my strongest area. Because I have experience teaching many years with them.

I am very open with free conversations with my students, because in that way, they could express themselves clearly and confidently, and share their ideas, thoughts and opinions on the matter during the class. Some might think free conversations in English are not as essential in learning the language but I believe on the contrary. I firmly believe that speaking comes from confidence and knowledge. And being able to freely converse with someone would definitely help in speaking the language fluently.

I can teach Academic English too! Despite the belief against Non Native speakers, I strived from being one. Being a non native English speaker, I have the first hand experience in learning the English Language myself. I was exposed to Academic English at an early age up until my tertiary education level. I am no stranger to parts of speech, figure of speech, conjunctions and learning new English Vocabulary and more. And with this, I became a great ESL teacher. I can often reflect back to the moment when I had to learn these things and then apply it to my teaching. In this way, I can relate to my students and teach the material the same way I learned it.

I am currently teaching 1st grade class in Michigan,USA. And I would not be here, with out my 5 years experience in teaching ESL.
