About Tana
Hi! I’m Tana Monk—a native English teacher specializing in helping kids and teens master reading, grammar, and confident conversation. With my 160-hour TEFL/TEYL certification and 8+ years of experience teaching students from Poland to China, I’ve learned how to make English fun and effective for both young and adult learners. As an American-Filipino who’s lived in Canada, the USA, the Philippines, and New Zealand, I bring a global perspective to lessons. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me playing softball and baseball (I was a former National Team player!), coaching softball, exploring new foods, or cuddling my dogs. I specialize in teaching students from 5-18 years old. I also offer classes to adults who want to improve their travel English, business English, everyday English, and more! Improve through visual materials, including short readings, dialogues, listening tasks, comprehension questions, discussion time, and homework. I understand the struggle of learning a new language. Currently, I am doing my best to learn Tagalog. My experience allows me to give you tips on how to learn efficiently and quickly.
