I'm someone who appreciates simplicity and also loves diving into exciting projects. I'm into saving money, creating DIY wonders, and currently working on launching my own educational website and YouTube channel. As an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, my approach to tutoring is centered on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that caters to the unique needs of each student. Here's an overview of my approach:
1. Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): I focus on developing students' communication skills through real-life scenarios and interactive activities. This involves a lot of speaking and listening exercises to enhance practical language use.
Task-Based Learning: I integrate tasks and projects that mimic everyday situations, encouraging students to apply language skills in a meaningful context.
Cultural Integration: Understanding culture is crucial for effective language use. I incorporate cultural aspects into lessons to provide a well-rounded language learning experience.
2. Typical Length of a Lesson:
I generally structure lessons to be around 25 minutes up to 50 minutes. This duration allows for a balanced mix of various activities, ensuring that students stay engaged and have ample time to practice different language skills.
3. Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
I hold a certification in Teaching English as a Second Language.
I have almost 8 years of experience teaching English to speakers of other languages, both in the Philippines and online.
I regularly participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and resources.
