About Rachel

- What kind of experience do you have?

English as a foreign language: I have completed a basic TEFL course (I can provide a reference for this). I have also had experience with teaching English as a foreign language online, conversational English and correcting English work using track changes.
I have previous experience of helping individuals who have English as a foreign language with dissertations.
Essay/report writing: I have helped undergraduate students with thinking about a research strategies for essays, planning, referencing and using excel for graphs.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I have a recent DBS certificate.

About the lesson

I proofread and also help students with several elements of essay/report writing. I am willing to help any level up to and including undergraduate level.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I charge £15 an hour for an initial assessment of proofreading needs if I meet in person. If the work is emailed to me the initial assessment is free. For proofreading I charge £8 per 1000 words. I work with students who have English as a foreign language and can include a £15 an hour one to one session focusing on any problems you have in terms of English that I identify from reading your writing.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a BSc in Biomedical science and a MSc in Neuroscience and thus have experience of the academic system and essay writing.

- How much do you charge?

I will charge reduced fees for English conversation online, email me to ask about charges (these will differ with personal requirements-online lessons should not cost more than £10 per hour).

- Where do you teach?

I will tutor at the students home. I am located near North London and am willing to tutor in the North London and Central London area.

- When are you available?

I am available early afternoon Wednesday and some evenings in the week. I am also available during the day on Fridays.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

Any level up to and including undergraduate.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I tutor online via Skype.
