About Thea
My experience with Excel began during my undergraduate studies in B.B.A in Business Analytics, where I realised the power of spreadsheets in analysing and interpreting data efficiently. Over 9 years of teaching, I have helped learners of various levels acquire practical skills that extend from simple calculations to complex data analysis. I focus on explaining concepts clearly, providing structured practice, and fostering independent problem-solving.
I approach teaching Excel with patience, adaptability, and a practical mindset. I tailor lessons to meet each learner’s needs, integrating real-world examples and exercises to make concepts tangible and immediately applicable. Students are encouraged to experiment, ask questions, and gain confidence in their abilities, ensuring a solid grasp of both basic and advanced Excel tools.
Outside teaching, I continue refining my knowledge through professional projects, data analysis challenges, and exploring advanced spreadsheet functions. Teaching Excel is particularly rewarding because students see immediate progress and practical outcomes. Supporting learners in building independence and confidence with data is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Excel lessons focus on transforming students into confident users capable of organising, analysing, and visualising data effectively. I emphasise understanding the principles behind formulae, functions, and data structures, so learners can approach problems logically rather than mechanically. Beginners learn foundational skills such as cell formatting, references, basic calculations, and table design, while intermediate learners advance to pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting, and simple dashboards. Each lesson incorporates real-world scenarios to make learning relevant, ensuring students see practical applications for personal, academic, and professional contexts.
As students advance, I introduce more complex features, including macros, advanced formulae, scenario analysis, and data visualisation techniques. Lessons integrate hands-on exercises, guided projects, and detailed feedback to reinforce comprehension and accuracy. I encourage learners to experiment, troubleshoot, and apply new knowledge independently, promoting confidence and skill development. Every session is structured to gradually build mastery while keeping the learning process engaging and rewarding.
Excel education also strengthens analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving habits. Students gain confidence when they can manipulate data, generate insights, and present findings clearly. My goal is to help learners develop both practical skills and critical thinking abilities, making Excel an effective tool for real-world challenges.
