About Evelyn
My journey with Excel began during my B.Sc in Information Technology and was further strengthened by an M.Sc in Business Analytics, giving me both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Over 7 years, I have guided students at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced users, focusing on real-world applications and hands-on learning. I teach with patience, clarity, and structure, using demonstrations, examples, and interactive exercises. I encourage independent thinking, problem-solving, and experimentation, ensuring students understand both the how and why behind Excel’s functionality. My approach builds confidence and long-term competence. Outside teaching, I actively work with live datasets, explore automation techniques, and follow trends in analytics and spreadsheet management. Bringing these experiences into the classroom ensures lessons are practical and relevant. Witnessing learners progress from hesitant beginners to confident, capable users is the most rewarding part of my work and continually motivates my teaching practice.

Excel lessons are most effective when students learn to organize, analyze, and visualize data in a meaningful way. My teaching covers formulas, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, macros, and dashboards, providing both conceptual understanding and hands-on practice. I emphasize structured problem-solving, logical thinking, and efficient workflows, helping learners become confident in manipulating data for personal, academic, or professional tasks. Lessons include step-by-step demonstrations, guided exercises, and practical examples to ensure students can apply their skills independently and effectively.
I customize lesson plans based on student levels. Beginners focus on navigation, formatting, basic formulas, and simple chart creation to build confidence. Intermediate learners explore advanced functions, pivot tables, logical formulas, and data validation, learning to handle more complex datasets. Advanced learners work with macros, automation, Power Query, dashboard creation, and data modeling, preparing for professional projects, presentations, or advanced coursework. Each session combines instruction, interactive exercises, and immediate feedback to reinforce learning and mastery.
Beyond technical skills, Excel lessons foster analytical thinking, problem-solving, and structured reasoning. Students gain confidence interpreting data, troubleshooting errors, and presenting insights clearly.
