About Tessa
I am an Excel tutor with 4 years of teaching experience, working with students of all levels. I have successfully guided 200–300 students in improving their Excel skills for school, college, and professional use. My experience has helped me understand how to teach beginners as well as advanced learners in a clear and simple way.
My teaching philosophy is based on clarity, practice, and real understanding. I believe Excel is best learned by doing. I focus on building strong foundations in formulae, functions, data analysis, pivot tables, charts, and dashboards. I make sure students understand not only how a formula works, but why it works.
I use real-life examples such as budgeting sheets, sales reports, and data tracking to make lessons practical and meaningful. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I am patient, structured, and focused on step-by-step improvement.
Many of my students have improved their grades, completed assignments confidently, and developed job-ready Excel skills. Some have used their knowledge to perform better in internships and workplace tasks. Their success and confidence are my biggest achievements.
My goal is to help every student become confident, accurate, and efficient in using Excel for academic and professional success.

My teaching approach in Excel is practical, structured, and focused on real results. I believe Excel is not just a spreadsheet tool, but a powerful skill for academics, business, and everyday problem-solving. I teach core topics such as formulae and functions, data analysis, charts and graphs, pivot tables, dashboards, data cleaning, and automation basics. I also guide students in related subjects like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, basic accounting sheets, and report preparation.
Integrity and accountability are important in my teaching. I ensure that every concept is explained clearly and practised properly. I encourage students to complete tasks honestly and understand the logic behind every formula they use. Accuracy and attention to detail are always emphasised.
I use real-life examples and case studies to make learning meaningful. We work on practical datasets such as sales reports, budgeting sheets, inventory tracking, and performance analysis. This helps students see how Excel is used in real workplaces. Creativity is also encouraged, especially while designing dashboards and presenting data visually.
Collaboration is a key part of my sessions. I involve students in discussions, problem-solving activities, and mini projects. I guide them step by step and provide feedback to improve their skills. My goal is to build confidence, analytical thinking, and job-ready Excel skills that students can apply immediately.
