About Elijah
I have worked in a variety of school districts throughout the New York City and New Jersey area. I am currently a Professor at Union College, where I teach English as a Second Language through writing, reading and listening. I work during the day at Newark Public Schools as a 6th grade English Teacher. I have experience working as a classroom teacher for students with special needs and mathematics. I hold a Master's in Teaching and a TESOL certification.

I start my lessons with a writing assignment where I get to know my students. After we read over your work together, I support you with correcting any grammar or spelling mistakes. In the next part of the session we will go through a reading exercise where I ask you questions about the article we read. In the final part of our session I work with you on listening exercises. If you need me to help you with writing a paper or reading something for school I am available for that as well.
