My tutoring style is built around making accounting click, not just memorising rules. Having recently been a student myself, I understand exactly where learners struggle and how to explain concepts in a way that actually makes sense in practice — not just in a textbook. Each session is tailored to the individual. I start by identifying gaps in understanding and building from there, using real-world examples drawn from my 4 years of professional accounting experience at a corporate level. This means students don't just learn the theory, they understand how it applies in the real world, which is particularly valuable for professional exam students.
My sessions focus on working through past papers and exam-style questions under timed conditions, alongside breaking down complex topics such as variance analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting into digestible steps. I check in regularly during sessions to ensure understanding before moving on, and I provide summary notes and practice questions after each session to reinforce learning.
Lessons typically run for 60 to 90 minutes depending on the student's needs and concentration levels. Shorter focused sessions of 45 minutes are available for younger or beginner, level students.
I hold a First-Class degree in Accounting and have 4 years of hands-on industry experience in accounting operations. I am also currently part-way through my CIMA qualification at Management level, meaning I am actively studying professional accounting myself, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for.
My tuition is suitable for A-Level Accounting students looking to improve grades or build exam confidence, AAT students at foundation or advanced level, CIMA and ACCA students at foundation and management level, university undergraduates studying Accounting, Finance or Business, and professionals looking to refresh or develop their accounting knowledge.
