About Vladimir
As an engineer, I am forever curious about how the world works. Maths and physics are the core of all the technology we see around us. My job allows me to channel that curiosity into developing cutting-edge aerospace products taking my ideas from concept to production and I adore it.
On the flip side, I know from experience how daunting these subjects can be and I truly believe it's because of how we're taught. I want to change this attitude and give students the ability and desire to challenge themselves and to have the confidence to solve complex problems fearlessly. As every student can attest to - the exam was always 'harder' than the past papers!

Methodology:
I believe in a problem-solving method to teaching as I've realised through experience that this is missing in today's lessons. Students are taught to 'pass' the exam through memory of formulae and methods but often stumble the moment an exam question differs slightly from their homework. As an engineer, I've learnt that breaking down problems into small bite-size steps and developing an understanding from first principles, is how students should be taught.
Experience:
I am an experienced Mechanical Engineer working for an established Aerospace Company and I've taught as a tutor for close to 4 years now teaching Maths, Physics and English.
Lesson:
My lessons are aimed at students from ages 10+ supporting KS2 up to GCSE and A level. I start with an introductory session where I get to know the student and understand their aims and specific support needs. A typical lesson would be 1 hour however, I may be flexible if time permits.
