As a dedicated tutor in algebra and pre-calculus, my teaching approach is highly student-focused, aiming to make even the most complex mathematical concepts easy to grasp. I break down difficult topics into smaller, manageable parts and use real-life examples to connect abstract ideas with everyday experiences. Visual aids like graphs and diagrams play a key role in my teaching, as they help students see the underlying structures of math problems.
My teaching method includes guided discovery, where students actively participate in solving problems, and Socratic questioning, which promotes critical thinking. I also prioritize consistent practice, tailoring exercises to each student's level of understanding to ensure mastery of concepts over time.
A typical lesson plan starts with a quick review of prior topics to reinforce learning, followed by a detailed explanation of new material, where I solve problems step-by-step to show my thought process. I then provide time for the student to practice with my support and guidance, and the lesson concludes with a summary and assigned homework to solidify the day’s learning.
