About Martine
Math and More Made Fun differentiates itself by teaching a variety of subjects in a multitude of ways, as well as by making it fun. Unlike many tutors, I understand the fact that everyone learns and comprehends things in different ways, so I pride myself into finding each students' comprehension methods.
I have over five years' experience with tutoring students of any age and in any subject. All throughout high school, I was enrolled in all Honors level classes, and aced them with flying colors.
I obtained my Associate's degree in Accounting from North Shore Community College, and then received my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from UMass Amherst.
I have a 10-year-old daughter in the fifth grade whose best friend is 14-years-old and in the eighth grade both of whom I help with their homework on a daily basis, as well as assist them in studying for exams. I truly love helping people understand any subject(s) they need assistance with, and I ALWAYS maintain a stellar level of patience as I try to figure out the way they retain information and learn new concepts.
I began tutoring as soon as my first niece was born thirteen years ago. Since then, I have absolutely loved tutoring students of any age and in any subject they need help with.
Throughout my four years of high school, I was in all Honors classes.
In 2007, I earned my Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting.
In 2014, I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and I will hopefully be attending law school within the next year. My goal is to become a constitutional lawyer.
For the last twenty years, I have worked as a Bookkeeper and Cost Accountant, and I also complete peoples' tax returns on a yearly business as a side job.

The first thing I do is ask general questions about the students' interests, hobbies, etc., and then I let them do the same with me just to make sure they feel comfortable working with me. I will then ask them the area(s) in the subject they are having the most difficult time understanding and let them know that we will be concentrating on those areas the most, along with aiding them with new material they are learning in class. Throughout this process, I will teach the student various ways to comprehend the material and then ask them which method works best for them.
I have worked with all different types of students: elementary school kids, middle (junior high) school students, high school students, and college students. In each case, I have found that everyone learns in a different way and therefore I have been able to create multiple processes of tutoring each student. I have also prepped many students for standardized tests such as the SAT's.
Make sure YOU are comfortable working with them.
Last spring, I was able to help a "troubled" high school student, who was currently in the special education program, to gain more confidence in his intelligence level which subsequently led him to being taken out of the Special Education program.

Pricing can range anywhere from $20 per session to $40 per session depending on the age of the student, the subject they need tutoring in, and the students' time constraints that may be present due to an underlying deadline. I offer a one-hour free consulation via Zoom or FaceTime to get to know one another, make sure we are both comfortable working with each other, and to go over my typical procedures and fees.
