About Samantha

I am a Humanities and Communications expert, who has experience not only as a professional in this fields but tutoring students in these areas also. I have a Bachelor Degree in Arts (History) and a Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies Degree (Journalism.) I also completed my Honours Thesis where I studied on how Victim and Perpetrator histories are remembered across different platforms. I am currently finishing my Masters in Secondary Education and work for the Indigenous Academic Support Program at Charles Sturt University. I have also worked as an Education Officer at the Sydney Living Museum and Sydney Jewish Museum, where I engaged primary, high school and University students with stories from Australian history and the Holocaust.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is based on empowering the student and wanting them to feel confident. I spend most of my time, energy and resources in making the student feel comfortable and helping them to understand the content and how to address an assignment. If they do not understand what they are meant to do or what they are meant to write about, then they will not enjoy learning the content. During my sessions I build rapport with my students, help them structure their response to an assignment, teach them how to research, help them to understand the content, encourage their writing skills and then support them during the final editing stages. In my experience I have encouraged University students who did not complete the HSC to receive High Distinctions and graduate as a Subject Matter Expert in that respective subject. I also have experience supporting high school students in Humanities subjects.
