About Katie
I am a qualified teacher with a lifelong interest in learning and helping others to learn. As well as my primary PGCE qualification, I am also a qualified child and family therapist, a forest school leader and a yoga instructor.

I have a passion for teaching English, with many years experience working with children and young people. I am a qualified primary school teacher and am confident working with children who have additional learning needs.
Children I have supported in the past have said that they feel more confident and happier after our sessions. Parents have reported that children do better in tests and in class generally after having been supported by me.
I also enjoy working with adults and have experience teaching English as an additional language. I completed my Certificate in Teaching English to Adults in 2016.
As well as tutoring I work as a children and family therapist and have an MSc in therapy, therefore
I have an excellent working knowledge of Psychology and am able to tutor this subject to GCSE and A Level.
When planning my lessons and activities I am well prepared and organised in relation to content and resources. My planning is informed by clear, achievable goals that are tailored to the individual learner.
I am adaptable in my teaching style and confident to make changes if necessary to a learning situation to ensure the learner remains secure and enabled in their learning as possible.
I am a friendly and approachable person who try a genuine interest in learners’ progress and achievement.
