About Hamish
I’m a passionate Biology tutor with a BSc in Biology and currently completing my MSc in Microbiology at the University of Canterbury. I’ve been tutoring for over 7 years, working with students across New Zealand and Australia. I grew up in Wellington and moved to Christchurch for university. Outside of study, I enjoy fly-fishing, tramping, and skiing. I love teaching because it allows me to share my enthusiasm for biology and help students build confidence and achieve their goals through clear, supportive, and engaging lessons.

I’m an experienced Biology tutor with over 7 years of tutoring experience, including work as an international online tutor supporting students from New Zealand and Australia. I hold a BSc in Biology and am currently completing my MSc in Microbiology at the University of Canterbury. My lessons are typically one hour long and tailored to suit each student’s level and learning style. I use a mix of clear explanations, diagrams, and real-world examples to help students build confidence and achieve strong academic results. I teach NCEA, first and second-year university-level biology, both online and in person.
